Wave edition by Eric Walters Children eBooks Reviews

I would rate the book, Wave, by Eric Walters 4 out of 4 stars because I liked how it left you hanging at the end of each chapter, how this book was based on a true events, and how the author told the story. One of the main aspects of the book was when the tsunami hit Phuket. I enjoyed this part because when the water started to "run away" they were all clueless and amazed at what they were seeing. But there amazement quickly changed to fear when they realized that the water was coming back in to shore, fast. I liked this because the author was showing how fast the tables can change from something beautiful and amazing, to horrible and horrific. Another main aspect was when Beth uncovered her father in the rows of dead body's. This was a major part of the book because, it was almost the same feeling as when the tsunami hit. When Beth was searching through the body's, she didn’t, find Sam or her mother in it, so she had some hope that her father wasn’t in it either. But that hope quickly escaped her (much like how the amazement quickly escaped Sam and his father when the tsunami hit) when she uncovered one of the tarps and found her father lying there, dead. Even though this was very tough for Beth to comprehend, she still had hope that she would find her brother and mother. The third man aspect of the book was when Beth found her brother at the hospital. During this part of the book, Beth, and the man and woman taking care of Blondie, went to a hospital to try and find her parents. After a little while of searching, they eventually found Blondie's parents. Shortly after that, Sam found Beth. I enjoyed this part of the story because, even though Beth and Sam had lost their parents, they still had each other, so they both started to try and accept that there parents are gone and that they had to go on without them. I think that Eric Walters made the father die and the mother not be found because he wanted to show the three things that could have happened to people during the tsunami, die, disappear, or be reunited. Overall this was my favorite book written by Eric Walters, and one of my favorite books of all time and I would highly recommend it.
